Every Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. in the West Lounge of the Clubhouse, I arrive
carrying two suitcases with materials and boards for duplicate bridge. I have
helped with the activity for more than 10 years, which brings enjoyment to all
who like to learn to play bridge.
There have been many people before me, who had the same goal: to play an
enjoyable game of duplicate bridge. When many contract bridge players hear about
duplicate bridge, they get intimidated. Please, don’t!
All the players who come to duplicate bridge on Thursday nights are there to
enjoy themselves. We usually have two or three tables, sometimes enough for
four. We play four to a table.
Men and women are welcome to come out at the cost of $1 per person, which
constitutes the prize pot. Those wishing to join in the fun should bring a
partner, if available. If not, we’ll try to find a partner for you.
On the first Thursday of each month we meet for dinner at the Clubhouse room
around 5:30 p.m. Bridge play starts at 7:30 p.m.
