GOOD INTENTIONS, DEVASTATING RESULTS

Did you know that the spread of diseases to fish could be stopped if fisherman didn't introduce species from other bodies of waters? Many times fishermen think their contribution would be a positive addition to our lakes, but in fact this could have a very deadly effect on the health of our fisheries.
Currently there is a deadly disease being spread rapidly that kills Largemouth bass. This fish disease can attack many species, but seems to be very deadly in Largemouth bass. The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) does not know how this disease originated or how it is spread, so do your part not to help spread this deadly disease.

MINNOW BUCKETS
Do not discard your unused minnows into the lake when you are done fishing. Throw your unused minnows in a trash receptacle. There are so many different types of minnows that are sold and we are not really sure what we are purchasing from the bait shop. Please do your part to stop the spread of unwanted fish species.
