Lakes of the Four Seasons

Lakes Maintenance Department

Muskrat Infestation

[Contact Us] [Office Hours] [Departments] [Search]

Lake of the Four Seasons has been experiencing an influx of muskrats (water rats). Many residents have not addressed the problem of removing these damaging critters. Their population has escalated. A single pair or muskrats can have up to 62 offspring per year. Every year that goes by without taking proper corrective measures can produce hundreds of muskrats. Muskrats will burrow into the shoreline and cause serious erosion problems when the den collapses. This in turn adds to the already troublesome erosion problem that exists in our community.
Well the time has come to make a major change. As a service of the Lakes Maintenance Department, a removal service will be provided to all residents with a muskrat problem. Residents will be entitled to a one-time trapping and removal service absolutely free. The professional trapper will also block and fill in the den where the animals were living. He will also give out educational information on the steps to be taken to stop future infestation. If suggestions are not taken and the need for another service call is needed, there will be a fee. Additional fees will be determined on severity of the problem. All fees will be paid to the trapper.
Bob Ford of Nuisance Wildlife, has had over 42 years of experience in animal removal. He specializes in the removal of moles, mice, bats, rats, squirrels, chipmunks, raccoons, groundhogs, and skunks.
