Golf Course TOUR

The par 72 golf course, sits at 6,376 playing yards from the Blue tees with a walking distance of just over 7,200 yards from the tee on Hole #1 to green on Hole #18. A unique feature to the golf course layout is the fact that nearly the entire front nine holes of the course falls in Porter County, Indiana while the complete back nine layout stretches over Lake County, Indiana. The golf course itself winds throughout the natural landscape of the fully developed Lakes of the Four Seasons community and features a traditional setup with many elevation changes, mature tree lined fairways, green side bunkers, water hazards and a greens ranging from relatively flat smaller raised greens to heavily sloped and double tiered larger greens.

Hole 1 - Timberline Tunnel

The drive is the most important feature of the hole. A straight drive will reward most players with a friendly approach to the green. Missing left or right of the fairway will cause problems with a tree lined fairway that opens up into the approach.

Longer hitters will want to shape their ball left to right to avoid running through the fairway. Missing right of the fairway will penalize players with a difficult downhill lie and forced carry over the right green-side bunkers. Players will want to avoid go long on the approach to avoid the hazard wrapping the back side of the green.

The golf course will reward precise shots off the tee and will to show its teeth on any number of holes, if players allow carelessness with game management. The course's shorter par 5’s will reward both length off the tee and precision on approach to the greens, but players should be wary on approach, as the par 5 greens on average are smaller targets or play with more slope than the rest of the course making short game a focal point to score if a player leaves any more than a flagstick from the hole. The par 5's are vastly countered by the lengthy par 3’s, the longest of which measures in at 231 yards from the blue.

The courses signature hole #16, is a 296 yard par 4, in which players will find themselves teeing over water, up a steep elevation change, to a tight landing zone leaving a narrow window to the green through a dense tree lined valley on approach to the double tiered green that spills back into the valley should a player fly their approach on a front pin placement. While the total yardage on paper may seem less than challenging for those inclined to judge by distance alone, the courses natural boundaries will penalize risk more than will reward when trying to cut corners due to the tight out of bounds restrictions coming into play throughout the course.
